At the Polico Court Dr. Peacock was chargcd with tho murder of the girl Davies.

Clifford Folcc, tho girl's sweetheart, stated that he last saw her at Dr. Peacock's hospit.il 011 August 17, He identified jewellery and clothing produced as belonging to her. On August 22 Peacock told him that.Davics was dead, and asked liim to leavo tho disposal of tho body to bim; he would socrctiy bury it. Peacock also said lie intended to take tho girl's clothes to his farm at Carnim, and burn tliem. Subsequently he slid tho body had been buried and the clothes burned. Ho warned tho witness to say nothing or it would bo bad for both of them.
