•Threo weeks ago yesterday mormnjj Powelka made his escape from the Torraco Gaol, and so far no detinito clue to Ilia whereabouts has been picked up.
A l'almei'ston paper mentions a rumour that Powelka is in that district, ami states that the police aro guarding all tho roads and bridgos by night. Thu rumour seems tr> be based on tho rather unsubstantial evidonco that a bicycle has been stolen, larders robbed in the night time, and that someone has been camping on tho river-bed.
