LOCAL CANDIDATES START IN

EARNEST.

Now that the Budget has been presented and tho electors and candidates have a wealth of political pabulum to deal with, the campaign in connection with the General Election of 1911 is to commence in grin) earnest Mr. A. L. Herdman, M.P., who spoke so spiritedly in the House on Friday evening on 'tho Budget, is to commence a tour of his electorate (Wellington North), beginning at the Wadestown Club Rooms this evening, when he may bo relied upon to serve up matters of political interest now before tho public., Sir. F. M. B. Fisher, M.P., announces that his address at the New Century Hall, Kent Terrace, this evening will be on the Budget, which he proposes to analyse and criticise at length. Tho electors of Wellington Central who seek a closer knowledge of the true inwardness of the Financial Statement should profit by attending. At Kaiwarra Mr. J. E. Fitzgerald, a member of the City Council and Harbour Board, who i 6 again a candidate for the Wellington Suburbs seat, will deliver a political addre.ss. Dr. A. K. Newman, lato Mayor of Wellington, who is the Opposition nominee for Wellington East, promises to deliver an address at an early date.
