Ij. Stedman being in tho chair. The following officers were elected: -Committee, Messrs. 'A. L. Stedman (chairman), W. H. Collingwood, h. Hirsch, P. Sim, K. Davis, A. Holmes, and \V. Eutherfurds secretary, Mr. Grant Sim j auditor, Mr. W. J. Mitchell.' It was derided to ask Mr. Clark, of Wellington, to give an address here; to apply to tho Technical School, for the. use of a room for a library; and to ,start a< student*' club. The membership of the local branch is now over fifty. The Trinity College musical examinations for pupils of this district .were;conducted yesterday by Mr. Charles. Schlisky, there being vtwenty candidates. Mr. J. Young, a Feilding resident, was admitted to the Palmcrston Hospital last night, suffering from severe injuries to his leg. It appears "that he' was "driving a dray when the horses bolted, and ho was thrown out, a wheel passing over the limb. Members of the Palmcrston Borough Council paid an official visit to the Feild-' iiig waterworks this afternoon".
