Gould, who is shortly leaving for Sydney, was the recipient of a presentation. - A serious accident happened on Thursday to a resident of Hak'oml'e—Otto lYislio'wsky—who has been engaged in felling bush for Mwsrs. 'Duncan, of Otairi. It seems that ho was struck by a falJinif branch of tawa, his arm and faco being severely injured. On Thursday uftoriioan, a very old rosident of I'eilding,; Mr. Charles Carrie, dropped dead whilst 1 chopping wood at his daughter's residence in Princes Street. lie had boon ailing for some time, but had not been under medical treatment-. Mr. Currio had lived in Folding ever since he eamo to New Zealand from the Old Country, 25 years ago. For somo time previous to his death he had been living frith his daughter, Mrs. Simpson.
