THE ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES.

PETITIONS OF PROTEST. The two Representation Commissions will meet this afternoon to prepare their final reports defining the boundaries of the electoral districts. The North Island .Commission will meet in Wellington and the South Island Commission in Christchurch. Forty-four petitions protesting against the proposals of the North Island Commission havo been forwarded. The districts affected are: Franklin, Haglan, Ohini'inuri, Thames, Egmont, Stratford, Wanganui, Otaki, and Hutt. The petitions protesting against the removal of Te Arolm into the No-License district of Ohinemuri aro also very largely signod. The Commission has decided that it will not rccoivo any personal deputations in support of the objections. The reports embodying the final decisions, of the Commissions will bo communicated to the Governor, and it is expected that the reports will bo presented to Parliament probably within a week. Should the Commissions decide to: make many alterations in thoir proposals, there may" bo some delay, as maps showing the defined boundaries must accompany tho maps.
