After three years of investigation work by the Canadian Seed Commissioner, Mr. G. H. During the experimental work many samples of feed" were analysed, and it was found that on the average, bran, shorts, aud middlinis, as s6ld by retail dealers, contained 2-IG vital weed seeds a pound, crushed grains 077, inoals 1802, and feed nats (unground) 4022. _ These seeds included more than 50 species of plants troublesome as weeds . It is known that when consumed by farm animals a proportion of such wee<l seeds passes into the ! farm manure with vitality unimpaired.
