Tho following'candidates aro announced for tho Kilmarnock Burghs seat, rendered vacant by tho death of Dr. A. R. Rainy (Liberal):—Sir John'Recs (Unionist), Mr. William Glynno Gladstone (Liberal), and Mr. Thomas M'KerrcU'(Labour).
Tho Liberal majorities at Kilmarnock Burghs for the last three elections were--2525 in 190G, 3230 in January, 1910, and 3088 in December, 1010. Sir John Ikes was formerly well known on the Liberal side of tho House as an authority on Indian affairs, but he crossed tho floor and changed his party shortly before. tho last elections. He did hot stand under his new colours for his old seat, Montgomery District. Mr. W. G. Gladstone was born in ISBS, and is a son of the lato M'r. W. W. H. Gladstone and a grandson of Mr. William Ewart Gladstone. Mr. M'Kerrell, tho Labour candidate, in December last stood for tho Kirkdalo Division of Liverpool, where he polled' 2902 votes against the 4205 of Mr. Kyffin-Taylor, the successful Conservative candidate.
