THE COMING ELECTIONS.

MR. F. T. MOORE AT MIRAMAR. A preliminary meeting was hold at Miramar last ovening by Mr. F. T. Moore, who is standing as a Labour candidate for the Suburbs at tho forthcoming elections. The chair was occupied bv Mr. J. M. Campbell, and there were "about •20 present. In slating that tho object of.the meeting was to elect a committee to work tiro district, the candidate remarked that Labour was out this time for a win. Since tho world began, Lal(our had had to do tho hard work and toil, and its reward had been a poor pittance, just enough to keep tho labourer going from day to day, and, too olten, he was loft to eke out his last days in misery. (Hoar, hear.) Labour recognised that it had to combine, and they were going to capture political power, and, ho added, wlicn they got it the country was theirs to do with as they would. The idlers, the drones, the speculators, and the intriguers wore then going to be put in their place. They were not going to fatten on tho workers very much longer. Lab6ur, continued Mr. Moore, was out for the conquest of New Zealand, and they could get what they sought by putting fifty raen into Parliament for a beginning. That was impossible at the coming election, but Labour would still have sufficient representation in tho House to be able to dictate to tho Government or the .Opposition what its policy should be in regard to immediate reforms. Workers should realise the goal aimed at. and go to work with enthusiasm, so that that goal should be reached. Applause.)

The following committee was set up to further Mr. Moore's candidature:—Messrs 31. Fitzoll, G. Symons, W. Hull, R. Waldon, T. Martin. T. Fit?. Allan, ,T. O'Neill P. Welsh, T. Brown, W. M'Donald, Alex! Thompson, J. Cairns, J. Moore, Hunt' G. Waldeu, F. T. Campbell, and Mrs! Black. Mr. Brown was elected chairman and Mr. Campbell (secretary).
