-9 PASTOR'REFUSES TO MARRY 'ELM. . By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. September 7, 11.10 p.m.) New York, September 7. A sensation has been c'aiis'eil in society by tho refusal of the Rev. Frederick Brooks, a Methodist minister, to marry Colonel John Astor to Miss Force. The pastor stated that he declines to marry divorced persons, and the wedding had to bo postponed. Colonel John Jacob Astor, head of tho American' multi-millionairo family, was married in 1691, at the age of twenty-six, to Miss Ava Lowio Willing, who divorced him in 1009. There were two children of the marriage.
