• WANGANUI AND CHALMERS. Tho statement that Sir John Findlay has decided to stand for the Wanganui seat was mentioned to Mr. Hogan, the present member, last evening. "I am tired of -these suggestions," was Mr Hogan s reply. "No, I will not discuss the matter." Asked if he. would deny tho accuracy of the' report, Mr. -Hognn replied with a silent negative. I hero have been persistent rumours that an endeavour was being made to induce Mr. E. H. Ciarko to abandon the Uialmers district, and stand for tho Oamaru seat in order to provide a vacancv ior tha Hon. T. Mackenzie. Interviewed last evening Mr. Clark'declared that he had no intention of leavinc his electorate
