INNOVATIONS CONTEMPLATED. A meeting of Seatoun residents interested in tho formation of a tennis club, an amateur athletic chili, nud a fire brigade was hold at the local tea rooms last evenin". Councillor Richards presided. I'he chairman stated that tho formation of a fire brigade appeared to l>o a uocossily. In two of t' l . l ' oo instances lately it was patent to'residents that had such a brigade existed valuable property inWit Imvii boon saved. Ho suggested that the Miramar Borough Council should be asked to give assistance. If the council would supply a bell, reels, hose, etc., that was nil that residents of Rea'.oun could reasonably expect. The speaker concluded by pointing out that t.he formation of a fire brigade would lessen rifles, and would favourably affect insurance policies, ■\ letter was received from Superintendent O'Brion, of tho Wellington Fire Brigade, statins that the co?t of plant (inrhiding shed) would be aljout XIW. , It was decided to set np the following committee to arrange preliminary matters in connection with' tho formation of Ihe brieadc: Messrs. Webb, F.dwards ISoo.n. MTarlnno, Grieg, Tracey, Teiford. and Tollcy. It was nlsn decided to form an amateur athletic club.
