As soon as tbo short title had been read, & Mr. STALLWORTIIY moved to report progress. On a division, 28 votes wore recorded for tho motion, and 2!) against. Mr. K. A. WRIGHT (-Wellington City) rose at 1 a.m. and stated that he proposed to oppose this Bill by every legitimate means in his power. Tho Short Title was carried by 38 votes to 17. Progress was then reported and tho House rose at 2 a.m.
