The forty-fifth annual meeting of the Star Boating Club >vas held last even>ng, Mr. A. D. Bayfield presiding. The annual report . and balance-sheet (previously published) were adopted. M'Kay wero members of the club. Messrs. W. S. Pearce, J. Swift, and T. R. Hickson were elected life.members, During tlie course of- the evening a question was asked as to what the Harbour Board intended doing in regard to the;removal of the" rowing sheds from their present site. In reply, the chairman stated that a deputation from the Star Club, Wellington Club, and the Wellington Navals Club hnd waited on the Harbour Board with the result that the sheds would not be-, moved from their present site for some considerable time at least. It was stated as the board's intention to erect a staging from tho end of Jervois Quay Wharf to Taranaki Street Wharf, and thus allow (he boat skids to remain. Appreciation was expressed of the manner in which members of the board had received the deputation, and a hope was expressed that active operations in connection with the work would not be commenced until the end of March next—the close of the coming rowing season. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to tho retiring officers, especially to Mr. J. E. Widdop, who has retired after holding office as Secretary for seven years.
