Dr. M'Arthur, S.M., delivered judgment in tlie case of Miller and another <Mr. Fitzgibbon) v. awl another (Mr. Arnold), in which tho plaintiffs claimed to recover .£(ifi 5?. Id., ;1s the balance due for material furnished and work and labour done in connection with the election of a dwelling at KiJbirnie. Tho defendants disputed the plaintiffs' claim, and sot up a counter-claim. ITin "Worship disallowed an item for ,ClO in the plaintiffs' claim, and gave him judgment for ss. Id. On the counterclaim he allowed 15s. (id. for papers supplied, for lining papers omitted, and .-£1 10s. as difference allowed on ceiling, totalling .120 ss. (id. CLAIM I'Oli POSSESSION. The case of Charles .Searle, commission agent, v. Leonard C. Coker, hairdresser, Lyall Day, an action for the recovery of possession of certain furniture, was continued. .Mr. l-Viir represented the plaintiff, and Mr. Jliwlmarsh the defendant. Defendant claimed that Searle owed <£21 for board and lodgings, and lie claimed in addition <£25 as damages. Judgment was given for plaintiff for possession, and for defendant for ,£2O is.
CONTRACT CLAIM. (Before Mr. AY- Oj. Riddell, S.M.) 1 Richard White sued Leslie H. Chaffey for .£26 10s. for work and services in connection v;ith draining, concreting, etc.. ■ at Kataitai. Defendant counter-claimed for .£25 damages for assault. _ ■ Mr. M'Grath appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. Young for the defendant. The case was partly heard, and then adjourned. DEBT CASES.
