RIOT AT LITHGOW.
' SERIOUS DISTURBANCES. LITHGOW DEMONSTRATION. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright (Rec. August 29, 9.45 p.m.) Sydney, August '29. A procession, a thousand strong, accompanied by a band, marched through Lithgow, demonstrating against the employment of non-unionists at tho ironworks. (Rec. August 30', 0.55 a.m.) Sydney, August 29. There is great excitement at Lithgow in connection with the strike demonstration. .. Soon after dark a horde of unionists raided tho blast funia<x> at Messrs. Hoskins's ironworks. All the available polico wore called out in tho attempt to guard the non-unionist workers, and a fight ensued in which a polico sergeant was wounded in tho head by a brick. Tho crowd now appears to bo in possession. The outbreak is tho most serious on record in tho district.
