The report and balance-sheet—' the hitler showing a credit; of .£l2B on the year's* transactions—were read and adopted, and it was decided to' reduce tho overdraft by .tIOO. ]t was decided to open the greens in October, and to hold competitions during the season as follows:— Kinks, senior and junior pairs, champion singles, handicap singles, and colts' matches,' It was also decided to send teams to Wellington at an early date. The following oflicers were elected:—President, Mr. J. A. Js'nsli; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Heck and .las. Young; general committee, Messr.-. A. G. Clausen, Jl. N'asli,.!'. Mowlcm, ll.Jlavdon; secretary, Mr. J. Tasker; treasurer, Mr. W. Becks green committee, Messrs. S. liussell, F. Mowlem, and A. Pickering; auditor, Mr. J. C. Swallow.
Members of tho Palmerston Coursing Club wound .up the Waterloo meeting last night wilii a smoke concert, tho president iMr. .1!. Lloyd) being in tho chair. A most enjoyable-evening was spent with vocal and, instrumental items, ami a number of toasts were honoured. , A League football match between Dannevirko and Wanganui is being arranged to be played on the Palmerston Show Grounds on September 10'. . ' ; . The annual meeting of the Manawatu liocing Club was'held"'last night, when, there, was only a moderate, attendance of members. Mr. K. 8. Abraham (president) took the chair. A meeting'of the council of Zealand llolstein-l'ricsian Association was held at. .Palmerston. on Wednesday. Prosent: Messrs. Coleman Phillips' (president), Wairarapa; V. H.. Leonard, Auckland; .T. Donald, AVaiigahui;' and A. J. Gallichan, Manawatu. Tho _ principal business.was, in. connection with the entries for the. herd book, and theso were gone through carefully and a large number rejected. It was decided to put the first volume of the herd book into.tho hands "of the printer at once,- «rthat;it. .can be issued early. . . ..'.'.'. The Palmerston Holiday Association is moving in the direction, of closing .business premises at, 12 'o'clock.instead of 1 on the statutory half-holiday. Tho opinion is.expressed that the latter hour in-oaks too far into the afternoon (0 bu of general use for sports purposes, and thatthe business done between 12 und 1 is,infinitesimal. 1 Messrs.
