THE LAUNCH OF THE MAUNGANUI
U.S.S. CO.'S NEW STEAMER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Duncdin, August 25. Tho new steamer Maungnnui, built to tho order of the Union Company by tho Fairfield Engineering Company, Glasgow, was successfully launched on Thursday, The christening certmony was performed bv Miss W. Ritchie, daughter of Mr. J. it. Ritchie. The Maunganui is to leave Homo ia October, and is duo at Melbourne about the middle of December, when she will enter the intercolonial service. Slio will bring a large number of passengers for Melbourne and Sydney on her maiden trip.
