"SOUSA AND HIS BAND."
Sir,—This morning's Dominion contains a critiquo on Sotisa's Band, which comments upon the lack of enthusiasm for "good music" displayed by tho Wellington public in not patronising the band lnore. Might I suggest that the absence of enthusiasm for Sousa's Band is not duo to a lack of appreciation of "good music," but rather to a lack of appreciation of tho Yankee march and other cheap music wliich figures so largely at this band's performances. , Sousa's Band is a magnificent combination of trained musicians; but, alas! the major portion of the music performed by this magnificent band is—rubbish, and the little crood music that is performed is often sacrificed on. the altar of "effect."—l tun, .ett., MOKE'S THE PITY.
