OBITUARY.
ADMIRAL LORD CHARLES SCOTT. By Telegraph—Phceb Association—Copyright London, August 22. Admiral Lord Charles Scotl, formerly Commander-in-Chief on the Australian station, is dead. The late Lord Charles Thomas Montagu Douglas Scotl, G.C.8., was bom in 1839, and' was a son of tho fifth Duke of Buccloiich. ■ He entered the Navy in 1853 and served in the Russian War in tho Baltic and the Black Sea. In ISBS he was appointed Rear-Admiral, and tho following year came out vo the Australian slation as Commandcr-in-Chicf, a post which he held until 1892. He was Commander-in-Chief at Plymouth from 1809 until 1002. SIR H. Y. GORING. London, August 22. The death is announced of Sir Harry Yelvcrton Goring, Bart., aged 70.
Sir Harry Tclvcrton Goring was a brothel - to Colonel Foster Vdverton Goring, of Hastings (stales a Pro* Association mepsnge). They arc sons of tho late Mr. Foster Goring, uho was private secretary to Sir George Grey. The deceased bnronct, who was born in 3811, succeeded his cousin in 189". He came out to New Zealand us a young: ninn.
