SHOCKING CAR ACCIDENT.
TWO LADIES .FATALLY INJURED (By TelcErapU-Presa Association.! Napier, August 22. A cab accident occurred on the Miltoi Road to-day and resulted in !he death of two women and serious injury to another. . It appears that,- while the cab was coming down tho hill, one of the horses stumbled and dragged the driver off his seat and along the read, till he was forced to let go the reins. The horses then bolted, and, at the bottom of the road, ran ovar. two women who were standing on the* fcotpatth. i The occupants of the cab—Mrs. and Miss Anderson, visitors from Wellington— \\;ere thrown out. One'of those who were standing on the footpath—Mrs. Bukor, wife of a local butcher—and Miss Ruth Anderson, died in the hospital an houi or two later. Tho other won'an who was standing on the footpath—Mrs. Porson— had lira' leg Broken. The driver cscoped with a lacerated forearm. The under part of the cab was smashed, and one-of Wv horses was so badly injured that it had v« hi destroyed. / . An inquest will bo held to-morrow.
