MR. LLOYD-GEORGE CONGRATULATED. PRAISE FOE' THE TEOOPS. (Bee. August 22, 10.55 p.m.) London, August 22. The King lias telegraphed to Mr. LloydGeorge. Chancellor of the Exchequer, as follows ;— "I am very glad to hoar that it is largely due to your energy and skill that tho settlement' has hoen ar-, ranged. I heartily congratulate you, and feel, with the whole country, most grateful to you for averting a most disastrous calamity. .The strike caused me the greatest possible anxiety." "George, E. 1." His Majesty also telegraphed to Sir. Asqirith his congratulations. In a message to the taps on strike duty the King ako commended the forebearaiuce and self-restraint shown by all ranks-
