Goodbehere, Davy, ICarkeek, Smith, Prior,, Coles, Lawson, Harding, Young, and many others. ■Miss Blackmore has returned from the south. . Sirs. Miles has returned from Marton. Mrs. Shaw is back from Masterton. Mrs. Woollams lias returned from Wellington. . - Mrs. and Miss Wheeler are at present in Palmerston. Miss Bishop is the guest of Mrs. Hallidav. llieTO was only a very small attendance at golf on Saturday,' although tho weather was beautiful. Miss Shannon and Mr. Grut played Mis; O'Halloran and Mr. Lewis for the mixed foursomes prize, and won. Among those playing wero Mesdames Grut, Ilardimj, Montgomery, Misses Haybittle, M<v>re, Burrell, Wvatt, Shannon, Bruce, Kirton, and others. Mrs. D. Caselberg returned to Masterfcn on Monday, after spending several weeks in Wellington. Mrs. M.-Meredith, of "Brooklyn" (Masterton), has left on- a visit to Christchurch, Mrs. Harding (Petcne) leaves on Wednesday on a short visit to Mrs. Deighton, Kawhatau. Mrs. J. D. Cruickshank is visiting Masterton. Mr. and Mrs. Tripp (Wellington) have been. visiting Napier. Mr. and Mrs. Cockburn Hood, who have L-een staying in Napier, left by motor for Masterton on Saturday. Mr. E. S. Pitt (Queensland) who has teen appointed to tho managership of the Queensland insurance Company, Ltd., in Kapler, in place of Mr. li. T., R. Watkins (recently transferred to liangitikei), has arrived in Napier with Mrs. Pitt. Tho-concert, which is being held for tho purpose of raising funds to assist in sending Miss Theima Petersen to Europe so that Sho : 1 tilhj- "c'ontinuo her musical studies undo!- 'the best available tuition, has been arranged to take place in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall oil Monday, September 11.
