SOUTHLAND J'IOL'RES. As pointeil nut recently, tlir export trade in Horses from Wellington for tho year, up to tho middle of the month was 1791. of a fetal estimated value nf <£1.1,080. A similar line of inquiry followed in Southland shows the horses shipped from the Bluff during the same period to be as under:— V al\ie. Xo. ,£. .March quarter "8 0,200 June quarter " 2XO ■ 10,081 September quarter (to August 15) J" . 0,735 Total '24,0011 The estimated value of eaeh horse shipped from Wellington was about ,£'2s per head, and I hat of the Southland shipment? just under JEjO per head.
