Ruapehu. s.s., left Hobart in continuation of her voyage from London to Wellington at 10 a.m. ycslerday. The local agents for the New Zealand Shipping Company expect her to arrive at this port on Friday afternoon . MOERAKI LEAVES SYDNEY. The local agents of the 'Union Company are in receipt of advice which states that this week's direct, boat- from Sydney—the Moeraki—left for Wellington direct at noon on Saturday. She has 247 passengers on board for all ports, and. should arrive in the stream early to-morrow morning. CAPE BRETON AT DUNEDIN. An arrival at Diuiedin yesterday afternoon from New York was tKe Vacuum Oil Company's chartered steamer Cape Breton. After visiting Lyttelton the vessel comes on to Wellington, ami thenco to Auckland. She may be expected here about the beginning of next month. ANGLO-PATAGONIAN'S ARRIVAL. Up till an early hour this morning there was no sign of the U.S. and A. Line's steamer Anglo-Patagonian, bound from New York to Wellington, via Auckland. It is expected that the vessel will arrive off the Heads about daybreak, when she will be brought in by Pilot Dawson and berthed at No. 16 Jervois Quay, to discharge her 650 tons of Wellington cargo. Her agents propose to dispatch her for Lyttelton tomorrow. After having been bar-bound at Manukau Heads, the Rosamond managed to cross outwards for New Plymouth and Wellington at 7.39 a.m. yesterday. She should arrive here some time this afternoon, and leaves for Picton, Nelson, New Plymouth, and Onehunga to-morrow. Arriving at Greymouth from Wellington, via way ports, at 7.30 a.m. yesterday the Arahura left on the return trip at 7 p.m.. At 7 a.m. to-day. the Wairuua is to leave Westport for Auckland. The Ilaupiri and Navua leave Wellington for Westport today. The former proceeds thence to Napier, East Coast bays, and Auckland, and the latter for Suva, via Auckland. At present the &ew Zc-alaud Shipping Company's steamer Waimate is on her way from Sydney ,to Auckland. On or about August 30 the vessel is expected to arrive at Wellington to land Montreal cargo. Mr. 0. Flood rejoined the Tarawera as second officer at Auckland, and Mr. A. Reed, who has been relieving Mr. Flood, has joined the Squall as second officer. When the Malieno was returning from Newcastle to Sydney after coaling on August 5, she showed a smart turn of speed, covering the distance to Sydney Heads at an average speed of 17.5 knots an hour. Latest charters include the barque Antuco, 1436 tons, with general cargo from Liverpool to Wellington and Duncdin. Also barque Manurcwa, 327 tons, from Whangaroa to Sydney with timber. An advertisement appears in this issue stating that Captain J. Horne, of the steamer llyndford, will not be responsible for any debts contracted without hi-s written authority. A projected departure from Picton for Wellington at 5 a.m. to-day is the Union Company's collier Kaiapoi. She is bringing a load of coal from Newcastle. Tho Iluddart-Parker Company's Ulimaroa landed p5,C00 sovereigns and XSOO in silver at-Lyttelton on Friday, and also landed anothcT 25,000 sovereigns at Duncdin on Saturday last. She also carries nine boxes of gold from the West Coast to Melbourne. Tile Ferry Company's new steamer Awnroa was taken up on the Patent Slip yesterday for small repairs. About the end of this week the Scales chartered steamer Clan Ross is expected to leave Bunbury for Lyttclton. The Clan 1 Ogilvy, which is en route from Bunbury to Wellington, via Lyttclton. is due in port either to-morrow or Thursday. -YeMcrday. the Himilangi was placed ou the Patent Slip for cleaning and painting. She leaves Wellington for the Chatham Islands, via Lyttelton. at noon to-morrow. Mr. A. 11. Oswin. late assistant purser of the Monna, joined the Koonya as purtier yesterday. The Government steamer Ilinemoa is to leave Wellington for Cook Strait oil Thursday. Arawa, Shaw-Savill boat, leaves Lyttelton for Port. Chalmers to-day. From the latter port she goes to Napier, and leaves there on August 26 for Auckland. A stay of two days will be made at the northern port, the vessel leaving for Wellington direct on August 30. The Arawa arrives here on September 2, and sails finally for London, via way ports, on September 7.
