THE COMING ELECTIONS.
TIME FOE A CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT. Mr. A. H. Herbert, a Reform party candidate for tho Maslerton seat, addressed about 100 electors at Hukanui on Saturday night. He received an excellent hearing, and at the conclusion of the address was accorded a vote of thanks amid prolonged applause. A further motion, "That this meeting considers the time has arrived when (lie Government should be turned out of office," was carried without a dissenting voice. The meeting concluded ffith cheers'for the candidate. Hukanui has hitherto been regarded as a Government stronghold. OROUA. (By TcJceraDh.'—Special CorfresDondent.) Mangaweka, August 21. Mr. R. E. Hornblow, Lil>eral candidate for Oroua, opens his electioneering campaign at Rangiwahia 'on Saturday next. Tho new boundaries of Oroua have absorbed from fifteen hundred to two thousand new votes in and around Mangaweka and Taihapc districts, all tho small townships between thes9 places being now in Oroua.
