FORECAST AND SUMMARY. Present indications are lor moderate to strong south-easterly winds northward of Xew Plymouth and Castlepoint, and south-westerly breezes elsewhere. Changeable and fair weather expected generally and a slowly rising barometer. Except about East Cape, where the weather has been stormy, and in Foveanx Strait, where conditions have been very unsettled, the weather has been generally fair. Palmerston, August 21— Beautiful weather prevailed yesterday and to-day in Palmcrstoii, though torrential rain fell a few miles out from the borough towards the north. Shinuon, August 21—There was frost on Sunday night and snow on the Tararua peaks on Holiday morning. Monday was bright and Ene. Otaki, August 21.—.Sunshine. Carterton, August 21.—A flue day.
