MUNICIPAL LIGHT.
A RECORD MONTH'S REVENUE. . Tie revenue of the City Electric Lighting Department for the month of July last shows an increase of .£517 as compared with the corresponding month last year, and it is the highest incomo attained since the inauguration of electricity supply in "Wellington. Tho number of consumers now ' total 5901, as compared with 3435 when the city purchased tho undertaking from tho late company four years ago, an increase of 72 per cent., or an average of. 18 per cent, per annum. During the last, twelve months the 1 consumers have increasod by 1135, or 33 per cent, which is by far the greatest expansion that has taken placo in any one year. Tho working expenses for July show an increase of .£307, as compared with last year. Comparing the totals to dato it will bo seen that the revenue has increased by .£1 _U5. and the expenditure (including Exhibition expenses amounting to £M 3) by «£790. The Exhibition account will, however, be further reduced this month for material returned to store. After, allowing for estimated capital charges there is a credit balance to date of ,£5267) as compared with ,£5174 last year,
