THE GOVERNMENT AND HOME RULE
ORANGEMEN PROTEST. At a largely attended meeting on Wednesday of the.Orangemen representing the Wellington district, the following resolution was passed unanimously:—"That wo enter our emphatic protest against the New , Zealand Government identifying itself with the party question of Home Rule for Ireland, by tho action of Sir James Carroll, Acting-l'riino Minister, as head of the Government, attending a:iid taking part in a meeting; that a Government office was advertised as the address of the secretary where Homo Rule correspondence, etc., would be received; and, further, we protest at the action of the Minister for Railways (tho Hon. ,17 A. Millar) in granting free passes i;-cr the New Zealand railways to the Home Rule delegates."
