BLUEJACKETS' MISSION.
• 0 Tho sailors from H. 31.5. Challenger continued last night tho series of services they aro conducting under tho auspices of the Central Mission at the Herbert Street Hall. There was a good attendance,.and Chief Tetty Officer Welsh was again in charge. Four of tho men ( took part in the service. Stoker Opie said a few words about "Tho Man Who was despised and rejected," after which Cooper Pannell sang a sacred solo. A man from tho hills of Devon, Chief Gunner Williams, expressed the joy v of the bluejackets in being present in Wellington, and gave an interesting address, into which were interwoven many incidents connected with the Challenger's recent visit to South America, Samoa, and Fiji. The address was based upon tho psalm, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble." Th'o calm of self-possession during the earthquake at Valparaiso was used effectively as ail illustration of the hush of soul that comes from faith in God amid the troubles of life. This evening the meeting will again be conducted by Mr. Welsh, and will commence at 7.45. The Central Mission Band will precede the meeting with an open-air service at Ghuzuee Street.
