GENERAL COMMITTEE. A meeting of the General .Committee of the Mnstcrton A. and P. Association! was held on Saturday afternoon, there being present Messrs. A. Morri6ou (chairman), and 25 members. Ground Committee. The ordinary monthly meetiife of the Ground Committee was hold at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday, there being present Messrs 11. Morrison (chairman), W. Perry, J. P. Perry, W. Cooper, D. M'Grcgor, jun., K. J. Dage', and E. Harper. ■ Mr. Morrisnn reported that the care, taker would commence the erection of a boundary feuca, between Solway and Messrs. 'Judd Bros.' laud on Monday morning. It was decided that tho netting in of the grandstand ceiling bo taken in hand at once. On the. motion of the chairman it was resolved thnt a hydrant be purchased for use at Sohvay. in enso of fir?, and for flnshing tho main. . Mr. Cooper and tho chairman wero appointed to inspect and report upon the best plan of subdividing the stock paddocks at bolway. The Tcport was adopted. Finance. The treasurer reported the > debit balance on June 30 as JE5651 15s. lOd.j expenditure since, -£26 4s. 10(1. j receipts for the month. JM294 9s. id.; cheques pre'fiiitod, JCSO 2s. 11(1. i and debit balanco as per pass-book, X 1327 Bs. sd. Tho Finance Committee, reported having authorised Messrs. J. C. Mmmcrcll and D. Capolberg, and the acting-secre-tary to sign cheques. Correspondence. The secretary of the Auckland A. nnd P. Association forwarded a copy ot tno order-paper for tho New Zealand Agricultural Conference, nnd asked that a copy, be sent to lht> Mnstcrton delegates. A communication was received from tho New Zealand Producers , Association ask-i-iw for support in connection with the •aommendatiens of the producers' representative at Honw, with regard to . tho matte, was one for the .freezing companies, and the letter was merely received. A letter was received lrom Messrs. BUickbur'ne, Smith, ,and. Co.- (Christchurch) enclosing the following resolution »a"-ed by the Canterbury Sheep-owners Union, and asking the association to take similar action: "That the new Poisons Bill, 'so far as it relates to sheep-dips, is considered by the Canterbury Mieop : owners' Union as'being unnecessary ana uncalled for, and detrimental to the interests of slicep-owncrs; and that n copy of this resolution be sent to tho lion, (j, Fowlds, tlin Minister in charge of tho Bill, to the Minister for Agriculture, and u> every member of both Houses of Parliament"—No action was taken.
