THE PETOXE WOOLLEN MILLS. An industrial dispute having arisca bo. twocn ths I'ctone Woollen Mills' Employees' Industrial Union of Workers and the Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Cou Ltd., and the parties (hereto having failed to adjust, a dispute.has been filed by the union for hearing befoit , the Conciliation Commissioner. Those recommended as assessors are H. C. Revo] I, union secretary, Kaiapoi; I). Dunderdale, mill employee, Teliae; and A. Walker, mill employee, lactone. It is proposed that 4S hours shall constitute a week's work, 85 hours to bo worked oa five days of tho week, and i{ hours on Tho hours shall bo from 7.30 a.m. till noou,. and, from 1 p.m. until 5.15 p.m. except-on bvihirdays, when the hours will be from 7.30 a.m. to IWS a.m. Overtime shall be paid at the rate of time and a quarter (so it is proposed) for the first four hours, and timo and a half for every succeeding hour after tho (irst four hours of overtime. Double (ihio shall be paid for all work done on Sundays and holidays, the following holidays being observed: New Year's Day) Anniversary Day, Good Friday, Easter lionday. birthday of reigning Sovereign, Labour Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.
