FORECAST AND SUMMARY. Present indications are for cool and changeable weather, moderate to strong £outherly and westerly winds predomin- ■ ating. The Ijaromotcr is very unsteady, and will probably fall again shortly. The westerly area of low pressure passed in the south during the night, and the winds have changed from moderate to strong southerlics, with fair to cloudy weather and showers in parts, especially on the West Coast. DISTRICT REPORTS. i (From Our Special Correspondents.] Wanganui, August 10.—Fino morning; cloudy afternoon; dull evening. Feilding, August 10.-Rainy morning; dull afternoon; overcast night. Otaki, August 10.—Vine, but dull. Carterton, August 10.—Fino; threatening from the south. Featherston, August 10—Overcast and threatening; southerly wind. Greytown, August 10.—Light frost last night: A southerly storm broke this mornin" at 8.30 and still continues. Weather very cold. Thermometer at 9 a.m., 40deg. Palnicrston., August 10—Particularly stiff frost last night, but just before midnight a irnddcu change took place, and rain fell, i'o-day has been fine, the jnoriiing being mild, but a cold wind set in during the afternoon.'
