The result of the election for tho "southern ward of the Wanganui Education I!..;ird was the return of tho chairman (Mr. TV"d Pirani) by a majority of 181 rntis. Tho voting was: Mr. l'irani. 2K 1 ; Mr. A. Mafheson, 35. Messrs. F. M. Snnrdle and .T. P. Aldridge were returned for the northern and central wards rcsn"ctively. An attempt is being made to resusitato the local branch of tho Society for Prcventinn of Cruelty to Animals in Feilding. It is intended to hold n bulb show in connection with.St. John's Church next month. Tire Feilding and District Egg C'irclo report another successful month, and, yesterday, the circle paid its members Is. I.UI. per dozen for eggs supplied during July. This payment was clear of all expenses. Nino new members were enrolled during the month.- For tho first week of this month 220 dozen eggs have been sent to their agents,
