TYPHOID AT PORIRUA.

A PECULIAR- THEOIJY. Tho Minister in Charge of Mental Hospitals replied in Parliament yesterday to a question by "ir. Wright anent the recent outbreak ot typhoid (ever at Porirua Mental Hosnital. Mi'. Wright said the Minister had answered tho question very fairly. It might be interesting, however, to know why it was that from timo to time outbreaks of typhoid occurred at Porirua. Ho was not trying to lay the blame on anyone, but there must be somo rearon for these mysterious visitations. A singular rumour had obtained currency as to the origin of those outbreak, at which scientific men would no doubt scoff. Attendants had stated that tho epidemic originated invariably with a particular patient, who had at one timo had the disease. It was alleged that tho disease always broke out in the part of the hospital which this patient occupied. Mr. Wright submitted the story for what it was worth,
