. 4 . CHAPLAINS FOR THE CAMPS. IBy TeleEraph.—Special Corrcssondnntl Feilding, August 9. The Presbyterv of Wanganui met in St. Paul's Church, Feilding, to-day, the Rev. Mr. Cbisholm (moderator) being in the chair. The Presbyterv expressed its sorrow at the sudden death of the wife of th«~Rev. P. B. Fr.iser. Reports on their respective stations were given by Messrs. Grundy nui East), Walters (Rewa),,Hogg <halcombe), and Bloom field (Apiti). The matter of chaplains for the military camps was discussed, and it was decided to ask that at least four Presbyterian chaplains be recommended for the district. The discussion on divinity degrees led to the adoption of a proposal to send a petition to the Minister for Education favouring such degrees being granted by the University. Quite a debate took place on the Book of Praise. It was finally agreed that, in view of the divided opinions, congregations be left free to choose between the Church Hymnary and the new Church Praise. The Presbytery subsequently met as a Maori Mission Committee, and transacted a considerable amount of routine business.
