HOCKEY.
AN AMUSING AFFAIR. Says "Cleft Ash" in tho "Press": Cases of "ringing in," although very few and far between, have been heard in Canterbury hoekev circles, but, for a team to play 12 men and no ono to_notico it, is, j. think, a unique case. This actually happened in a third-grade match between. Drapers aud C.E.C. last Thursday week, the latter team being tho otlenuois. i understand that it was not .until following day that the captain o the W.R.C. team discovered that ho had iiacl twolvo men on his side. It does not saj much for tho combination of tho team and tho referee, that such a state of affans should have escaped notice, but, seeing that the W.R.C. captain" was perfectlJ honest about it, the matter, it must bo concluded, was a pure oversight,.it would only be fair to-al concerned that tho match' should bo played over agam-that is,- if the state of the competition should necessitate such a step."
THE TEAMS LISTS.
Owing to pressure 011 space, it has been. found impracticable to publish the. pelconnel of tho various teams forwarded. As in the case of Rugby and Association football it will only 1)0 possible to publish tlio personnel ot house ■ teams for the rest' of the season.
