AND A SUGGESTION. Regret at the resignation of Mr. T. IC. Macdonald was expressed in tho Legislative Council yesterday by tho Hon. J. E. Jonkinson. In expressing his sorrow at the loss of Mr. Macdonald, Mr. Jonkinson said that if that example wero followed by at least ono other member of tho Council the majority of tho Council would bo very pleased. He regretted to have to say this. Mr. Macdonald saw fit to resign his scat. Nothing compelled him to do it except his own opinion of tho dignity of tho position. Many members, lie reiterated, thought that example should ho followed bv another member of tho Council. At this stage tho Actinp : Speaker interrupted with a remark that this might Ijo taken ns reflecting 011 a member of the Council.
