THE VANCOUVER SERVICE.
INAUGURATED TO-DAY
As far as Xcw Zealand is concerned the new Vancouver service will be inaugurated to-day, when the first steamer—the "red fuuucl" liner Maranio— will ieave .Auckland for the Canadian coast. The Marania is one of the finest vessels plying in the Pacific, and now that she h.is been fitted with wireless telegraphv is as up-to-date in her-equipment as she is comfortable as a modern passenger boat. The Jlarama will be fol)o\vcd by the "Makiira, leavin? Auckland on September 1: and the- Zeatandia on Sepleml>er 2!). The ' Jfarama is duo-to arrive, back "iii Auckland on Septeinbo 20 three days before the Zpalandia le.-.ves. Henceforth I lip Han Franrisco-New Zealand steamers will both arrive and depart from Wellington.
The death is announced after a brief illness of Mr. .lames Dunlop, V/aterhead, Cumberland, the well-known breeder of Ci.nlesdalo horses. Jlr.
