SHEARERS' CONFERENCE.
Tho Shearers' Conference was occupied practically (lie whole of vosTenTay in discussing matters with representatives of the Labour i'otlcration. The conference will bo continued to-day, and it is iiuilc possible find liiialitv will not be reached j before Saturdji.y. A deputation .of shearers had n private conference with the Hon. J. A..slillnr yesterday in regard (o tho nrcoiuinodalioii' provided for shearers ■throughout tho .Dominion. .It is understoocl that thcro is considerable dissatisfaction at ■ tho conditions under which shearers • hav« to live at some of (he stations', although in many of the sheds it is - admitted that there is .something like comfort. It is stated that legislative assistance, something, on the lines of that in force in Queensland, is being, sought in order to bring all the sheds into fine as regards accommodation, etc. An effort is being made to have a bill brought down during tho present session.
