RETURNS EPITOMISED. According to the accounts of the. Public Trust Office for the last financial year the , amount held under wills and trust estates totalled .£1,206.905, and under intestate estate, Moo,m. Mental patients' estates accounted for £148,281. At the close of the financial year ths Public Trust Office held on jinking funds of Government and local bodies .£1,711,(160, and superannuation and Civil Service funds, J2675,15D. The profits earned by the Public Trust Office in the past year totalled *£22,939, and tha profits invested are shown at vSGO.GIIi. The investments of the office include stock, bonds, and debentures .£611.697; mortgages, .£3.310,400; properties acquired by foreclosure, =£6713:' advances on overdraft to estate?. ,£71,7(12; and cash in hand and on current account ,6136,723. The receipts of the Public Trust Ofliee for the past year, including £2.1,29.5 IBs. ft] brought forward, totalled .-GG9.G6I 3s. lid!! and the expenses, including depreciation .£926 17s. 3d., totalled ..C 10,424 10s. 4,]' leaving a balance of .£22,930 13s. 7d. The Consols account shows that fhe deposits received during the year totalled .CKi.Ho. and deposits to the amount of .EIJO2 Gs. Ud. were repaid. The loans granted and provisionally wanted to local bodies under the Local Bodies' Loans Act for the mtf financial year amounted to the moderate sum cf '.£IOB4. A loan of ;E23 applied for by tin? Jfotoron County Council and another for .£3O by the Wairoa County Council were refused. The totnl amount aclvartc.-d to local bodies up to March 31, 191.1, is ,£2,825,633 ,6s. 9(1., and the total amount borrowed for the purpose is given at JJ3.523,100.
