LABOUR CANDIDATES. It is tlio intention of the Federation ol Labour, a body distinct from the Trades and Labour Council, h> contest the Bullev," the Grey, and Hie Ohinomuri seals. Plieso are all mining constituencies, and the federation is chiolly an organisation of. miners. The Duller electorate is at present represented by Mr. J. Colvin, the Grey by Sir Arthur Guinness (Speaker of the House of representatives), and (ho Ohinemuri by Mr. H. Poland. The names of the candidates are not yet available. Campbell, a candidate for the Hawke's Bay seat, attended a meeting of local unionists at St. Matthew's Hall last evening. There was a lurgo attendance, and Mr. \V. Stockham, president of t|io Hawke's Bay Freezers' Union, was in the chair. The proceedings were not open to the press, but it is reported that Iho views of Mi. Campbell, who is standing on the platform of tho Eeioj-m party, met with,the hearty approval of the bulk of the audience. Oil tho motion of Mr. Gavin Allan, a hearty vote of thanks was unanimously accorded to Mr. Campbell. It is understood that two other candidates, Messrs. A. L. D. Frasor aud- H. Lan Simson, will commence their campaign shortly.
