In reference to the question of referees being appointed' to matches by mutual agreement of the loams concerned, a let--1 tor was received from the Wellington Ee--1 forces'i Association asking that a confor--1 once be arranged among the union, three - members of the Kei'crees' Association, and • three playing captains of senior teams. — ■ It was decided that a reply be sent stat- | ing that the iraiou was prepared to con--1 fer with members of the Referees' As--1 sociat'ion regarding the matter. ; A letter was received from the Porirua I j Club in reference to their protest agninst ' the Southern Club being allowed a win " in the third-class fixture Southern v. ! Porirua, played on July 8. COMMITTEE MEETING. , Mr. H. N. Holmes presided over the r usual meeting of the Wellington football . Association held last evening. , Jlr. G. Stevens was ekcted a member of the Management Committee vice Mr. H. 1 Green resigned. j A letter was received from the City Council stating that two grounds had J been allotted on Duppa Street, and one on Anderson Park lor purposes of school- . boys' games. , In regard to the playing of a Fourth Divi- . siou piayer in the I'ifr.h Division match, I Institute v, South Wellington, a protest was entered by the former team, it was j decidtd that the match be awarded to the Institute team. Transfers- were' granted to A. H. . M'Kay, J. Purvis, and H. Hall-Kenny , from Y.M.C.A. Senior Division to the , Second Division team. I In the Swii'ts-Porirua Sixth Division [ match, played on July 22, Swifts plajvd a , man unregistered and over age. It was , decided that the match be awarded to Porirua. i A vote of thanks was passed to Messrs. Duncan and Macintosh for lending the ; Association the sum of ,£SO, free of interest. '■ Jlr. H. N. Tlolnies stated that it was his intention to leave New Zealand shortly, and in consequence he intended to resign the chairmanship. General regret , was expressed by members present, and some complimentary remarks were passed concerning the good work that has teen done for Association football generally by Mr. Holmes. In reply, Mr.. Holmes stated that he very much regretted having to leave, for the game was at an interesting stage at the present time, and, in his opinion, it was the coming winter pastime in the Dominion.
