At tho S.M". Court yesterday an elderly man was fined .£ls and costs for sending indecent letters to a woman through the post offico. Leave to appeal was granted on security of ,£25.
Owing to tho Drill Hall having been let for tho purposes of a skating rink the local Territorials decided to have a holiday, and it is announced that there would be no further parades of local companies till further notice. The rifle range is also shut down for repairs, so matters military are quiet, except that the medical examination of tho men enrolled under tho new defence scheme still goes on, and is expcctod to occupy another week. Tho authorities aro experiencing soiuc little difficulty owing to some men having changed their addresses without notifying the area sergeant-major, all notices returned bv tho post oflico lieing handed to the police, who will ascertain the whereabouts of the men concerned with a view to proceedings being token ogtiinst .tlwm,
