A SOCIALISTS' MEETING OR NOT?
Sir,—l notice from this morning's paper that Mr. W. S. Bedford (who was chairman of Sunday nigh.t's anti-'Vonscrip-tion" meeting) states 'that tho meeting;in question was not held under the auspices of tho New Zealand Socialistic party. That may be, but ah the fame time I should like to remind Mr. Bedford, and draw your readers' attention to the fact, that out of the five speakers on the platform, three of them wero undoubtedly Socialists, and when th.-e hawking for sale among the audience c.f the "Now Zealand Worker" and otihor revolutionary literature is considered, not to say tho amusing attempt to etart proceedings with the chanting of a "Song of Eevolt," it is surely not unreasonable or misleading to refer to the affair as a "Socialists' Meeting." However, I should imagine it will prove-to be tho-last.—l-am. etc SWADDIE.
