WELLINGTON ROWING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING. ■ Mr. W. J. Gaudin presided over tho annual general meeting of the Wellington Bowing Club, v;hich was held in "tho clul) s rooms last evening. , T l\ e . , annual rcpoa-t and balance-sheet (published on Jnly 21) were adopted. A telegram was received from Mr. A in. Mnthieson, secretary, ivho is at present recovering from an operation for appendicitis at Auckland, statin? that he was progressing favourably. The meeting passed a motion of sympathy with their popular secretary. Tho following officers were elected for tho ensuing-reason:-President. Mr. W. '•: -JMdd; vico-presidents, Messrs. J. Speaking on tho proposal by tho Harbour Board to utilise the waterfront (now used by tho rowing clubs) for tho purpose ot connecting Jcrvois Quay Wharf with 'laranaki Street Wharf/Mr. Gaudin said that there v;m no other site on the waterfront so favourably situated for their own ; purposes as the present one.
