John Bowron, of tho lato firm of Bowron Bros., leather merchants, of Bermoudscy, examined in tho Bankruptcy Court, said that tho failure of tho iiim was duo to tho loss of .£IOO,OOO owing to tho riso in tho price of raw materials in. tho autumn of 1907. The balance-sheet for 1900 showed a deficit of .£50,000. By 1909 tho deficiency had risen to ,£125j800. Bowron Brothers, of New Zealand, forgavo debts to tho extent of between 1005 and 1907.
