Messrs. Dalgcty and Company report:— At our Palmcrston sale yesterday a small entry ot sheep and a medium entry of caitie. Messrs. Abraham .and Williams. Ltd., report:—We held a. very successful clearing sale for Mr. O'C.illaghan at the farm, Aorangi, on Wednesday. July 26. Tho herd of 34 that was submitted were particularly choice, most of. them being well into the Jersey, and calving early. Prices ranged from £5 to £14 55.. the whole herd realising the good average of £9 12s. per head. Tho springing heifers made £10 per head. Pigs: Boar. 155.; sows, 20s. to 235.; wcaners, 7s. 6d. to Bs. Freezing buyers were operating at late limits, and consequently the market remained unchanged. Sheep; 2666 yarded, a. full yarding, ineluding some extra prime hcavy-weiglu wethers. Freezing buyers offered at late rates, but butchers bid more, requiring stock for window display during slimv week. Quotations: Extra wethers, to <Cs. id.: heavy-weight, to 225.; 1 extra, 24;.; medium, 18s. 6d. to 20s. 6d.; others, 16s. 6d. to 18s. There were only a few ewes forwarded, and these sold at a slight advance on late rates. Cattle; 140 yarded. A short yarding.
