A grand niijsie 1 evening was held at the association sa't evening, vith a view of replenishing the housekeeping cupboard of the eon,in it fee Mr. H. N. Holmes, general secrotary, who was chairman of last night s trathe'ring, ciiioted some interesting tacts concerning tlie work of this tea commit(ee. From October 1, 1905, to July i.J, 1911, there had been ah attendance of 16,661 members, and no fewer than strangers, making a grand total of 19,99s This constitutes an Australmu record, The work is done entirely by young men, and manv of the very best workers in th« association have graduated to larger service bv beginning at tho htrongers lea Committee.' Mr. G. M'Kay,tho .present chairman, joined the committee in 100*. and sinrc that t s .mc, has not been absent on move than tv;o occasions, excepting at dhristmas or Luster, when no (ratherI ins has been held.
