MISSING LAUNCH.
» CHAMtED WRECKAGE FOUND. Inspector Ellison has received leloprapliic advice from Constable O'Grady, of Havelock, to the effect that a charted pieco of wreckage from a launch has been washed ashore in Pelorus Sound, mid also a coat 'which has been identified as belonging to Mr. Albert Taylor. On July 15, Mr. Taylor and his wife left Manaroa for their home, distant 12 or 13 miles. Word was not received from Four Fathom Bay till last Saturday that the Taylors had left for home, and it was thought there that they had stayed longer than tliev intended. The captain of the steamer Elsie reports that on the evening of the loth he saw a flare off Homewood Point, about six miles from Manaroa, but took it for a fire on the beach. A tin and cushion'were found, and recognised as belonging to Mr. Taylor's launch. Tt was thought that the flare was caused by an explosion of benzine, and that. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor both perished. The latest advice woiild appear to confirm this opinion.
